Inspiring Re-greening Revolution through Communication Togo
AFR100 technical partners Justdiggit and the Forests4Future project of GIZ have formed a collaboration to promote Forest Landscape Restoration efforts in Togo, Madagascar & Ethiopia through a comprehensive communication campaign.
Under the Forests4Future program, Justdiggit provided support to the local implementing team and political partners in executing various communication strategies to amplify the impact of the AFR100 and the Forests4Future project in project areas and beyond. These communication campaigns included movie roadshows, radio programs, murals, billboards, and journalist trainings in all three countries. By utilizing these communication tools, both the local communities and those outside the project areas were informed, inspired and motivated to engage in regreening efforts. Through this campaign, hundreds of thousands of people were reached, leading to the expansion of forest and landscape restoration through increased awareness and community ownership of the regreening movement of AFR100.

Adamou Ali Zoubeirou didn’t set out to restore land when he started Addax in 2010. After a brief period working in the general supply trade, he learned that Gum Arabic, a natural emulsifier and stabilizer made from the branches of acacia trees, is in high demand in North America and Europe. Traditional farming communities in Korea developed a system called JADAM, which has been proven to be used to make the land more alive. Namely maximizing the use of plants that have certain ingredients that are adapted to local conditions, livestock manure, mineral salt water, and other materials that are easily available nearby, then connected and integrated with the food chain system between plants, animals and humans, including the use of microorganisms. . I have started applying it to several areas of land that have been damaged, because the humus has been lost due to mining activities on the island of Kalimantan, where the condition of the soil is very similar to the condition of dry desert soil and is almost rocky. This effort is showing very good results and if this is tried to be applied on the African continent and other desert lands, it seems that it will slowly improve naturally and bring benefits that move very quickly. Greetings from me in Indonesia and it would be very good if the JADAM system which was pioneered by agricultural experts in Korea is implemented. Please see this method which has been widely broadcast on many UA-cam channels, as a reference. Good luck and greetings to a healthy and green earth.

This is what happens when leaders at the top are committed to helping their people. Self reliance is what is needed, it is worrying that some parts of Africa think they will benefit more if they get on the 2.0 colonialism looming over the horizon. Bravo Ethiopia. And those intent on wars all over the continent should reconsider, wars benefit no one, they just keep people poor and unstable, and under the skin, everybody is the same. People should also remember colonialism 1.0 is the root of a lot of trouble on the continent, the questionable borders drawn, the extraction of raw products, with very little benefit to local populations.

8:48 "Land divided into four sections", reminds me of a UA-cam video that I watched, with Native Hawaiians dividing the land in a similar way; different than here since they lived close to an ocean beach. Top, steep, with rain clouds and fog, is sacred, untouched. 2nd section below it, slightly less steep, is kept as forest minimal harvested for wood and seeds but not enough to wear away the slope.3rd is planted tree orchards, bottom is irrigated with traditional root crops, with understanding that water leaving a field must be as clean as when it entered. 4th is the village, using the bay as a giant fish pond with rock wall with gap, and nutrients recharged every high and low tide. In short, even across continents and people who've never met, converge on a similar ecological wisdom.

It seems that Ethiopia is on the right track. An additional thing that should be done worldwide is population control of course. Unfortunately most religions frown on Curbing population growth, wanting to increase the power of their own religions.

Interesting that some ideologue in a cubicle at You Tube decided it was necessary to remind everyone that this is all bullshit by way of the Context inclusion from the United Nations (now there is a reputable body of intelligent people). You Tube wants to remind you that what is presented herein is not science and the real culprit is the burning of fossil fuels causing climate change. They also want you to please disregard any facts and observations this documentary provides. Here we have documentary evidence of improving our planet. They don't want to acknowledge the possibility of overgrazing, plastering our planet with asphalt, denuding our forests for timber, grazing and farming, forcing farmers to buy agricultural seeds that do not allow for natural reproduction and diversification, etc, etc, etc. But hey, You Tube, don't let that get in your way of pushing political or ideological views! Continue to remind us that the UN has decided that all of our calamities are due to the use of fossil fuels and has nothing to do with the expansion of our urban developments, over-utilization of our farm and pasture lands and hyper-destruction of the environment.
